Cyber Security

Examining security strategies for combating cybercrime and other cyber threats to critical infrastructure such as civil and military nuclear facilities.

Chatham House research on cyber security looks at both the strategic and legal implications as well as its intersection with other issues, such as the internet of things.

Projects also examine cyber security law and governance and the balance between surveillance and privacy, notably through the Global Commission on Internet Governance. Further research explores the intersection of cyber security with issues of space security and global interdependence.

A major programmatic focus of this work for Chatham House is carried out by the International Security Department and its projects.
