Asia-Pacific

Chatham House research on the Asia-Pacific region explores the key political, economic and social developments.

Covering the region from Afghanistan to Australia, the work focuses on geopolitics, governance, population and migration issues, technology and its impact on society, conflict dynamics and prospects for peace and promoting sustainable and inclusive growth and development.

Key project work includes the UK-Japan Global Seminar Series which examines how the UK and Japan are adapting to a changing world, and the EU-China 2025 project which focuses on the economic relationship between the EU and China over the coming decade.

A major programmatic focus of this work for Chatham House is carried out by the Asia-Pacific Programme and its projects.
