Public International Law

Chatham House work on public international law examines rising powers and the future of international law, global governance and the rule of law, contemporary issues in international human rights law, and the role of the UN.

It encompasses the International Law Discussion Group, which provides an opportunity for policy-makers, lawyers, academics, civil society, diplomats, the military and the media to engage with each other in a constructive and neutral environment, tackling issues together and making suggestions for policy and legal responses.
