David Ronicle

Biography
David oversees the production of the Bank of England’s global forecast, advising the Bank’s Monetary Policy and Financial Stability committees on the implications of international developments for the setting of UK macroeconomic policy.
He spent the years 2019–2022 as the UK’s alternate executive director to the IMF, steering the IMF through the Covid-19 pandemic as a member of its Executive Board. That followed several years advising the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee on the UK’s near-term outlook.
David began his career in economics at HM Treasury, with a range of roles focused on the budget, fiscal policy and the UK macroeconomy.
David holds an MA Economics from the College of Europe, Bruges, and a BA in Archaeology, Classics and Classical Art from University College London.
