Countries in the Maghreb region are struggling to respond to domestic hardships and global economic challenges in a context of weak regional cooperation, diplomatic tensions, and internal instability. Efforts by populations to increase political freedoms and progress towards them have been clamped down on, while they continue to face socio-economic challenges and regional disparities.

Research focuses on Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, examining the political, social, and economic dynamics that they face domestically and at a regional and international level.
