Careers

Do you want to help build a more prosperous, just and secure world for all? Join our inclusive and groundbreaking team of independent thinkers.

At Chatham House we seek to answer the questions that are shaping our world: How will artificial intelligence change the way we live? What can be done to prevent violent conflict? And how can technology be used to tackle climate change?

Research is a big part of what we do, but there are many other jobs at Chatham House, from events and project management to IT and communications.

Join our team to collaborate with the world’s best thinkers and make a real impact.

The institute

Working at Chatham House means that you will have access to our offices in unique surroundings at our world-famous Grade II listed home in beautiful St James Square, London.

The institute was home to Prime Minister William Pitt, the Earl of Dere and William Gladstone. The rooms in which they lived and worked are still in use today whether as meeting rooms or as rooms used by our teams.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

We are an equal-opportunity employer. Diversity is at the core of what we do.

We hire people of all backgrounds and from across the UK. We believe this helps challenge established perspectives and creates more representative policy makers.

You do not need a degree or a particular background to work at Chatham House. Our open, honest recruitment process assesses your skills and achievements and your passion for what we do. Our recruitment panels are fully trained in unconscious bias.

Learning and development

You bring the passion and skills, and Chatham House will provide the opportunities and training to support your goals.

We offer structured and empowering induction programmes for all our new starters to begin their employee journey with us on the right foot. We also offer ongoing blended learning via online platforms and the classroom, covering both hard and soft skills.

There is so much opportunity to work across so many different teams while developing in one’s role.
