Biography

Based in between Geneva, Dubai and Istanbul, Ilker Baburoglu, both in personal and corporate capacity, has been heavily working to improve and contribute to energy security and reliability for various communities. He is serving as a founder at various multi-national energy & commodity trading companies. 

Ilker serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Council in Washington, DC.  He is a member of the Leadership Circle at the Harvard Kennedy School Dean’s Council.  He is a faculty member at the Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership and Next Generation at the Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, in London. Ilker is further a member of the Global Advisory Council at the Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs.


Ilker has a diverse background in mega-project development, hydrocarbons, renewable energy, mining, power generation, and critical infrastructure projects, especially in emerging markets. He is dedicated to good corporate governance and capacity-building efforts to encourage inclusive economic growth and social development in challenging geographies. 

He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, Koc University, Bogazici University, and a member of YPO.
