Joanne Maher

Jo Maher is deputy managing editor in the Communications and Publishing department at Chatham House, she works with research programmes and experts to develop the institute’s flagship reports, research papers and briefings.

She spent 2025 on secondment to the institute’s academic journal, International Affairs, as acting managing editor.

Prior to joining Chatham House in 2014, Jo worked in academic reference publishing. She has a BA in French and international relations from the University of Reading, and an MA in psychoanalysis, history and culture from Birkbeck, University of London.
