Biography
Julie Holt-Jones FRAeS is a senior adviser on space, defence and international security. She provides independent strategic judgement on high-consequence decisions, integrating operational, technological, industrial, institutional and geopolitical perspectives. This enables her to identify critical gaps and dependencies to distinguish what is operationally effective, institutionally deliverable and strategically significant.
Julie led and directed five successful spacecraft missions across ESA, NASA-aligned and industry programmes spanning civil, commercial and defence environments. As Spacecraft Operations Director for a major telecommunications satellite programme in Singapore and Taiwan, she led multinational teams and established dual control centres in the highly politically sensitive Indo-Pacific environment.
She has lived and worked across continental Europe, Asia and the Middle East and advises governments, defence organisations, industry, boards and investors internationally. Her experience brings first-hand understanding of how operational requirements, national interests, institutional priorities and commercial realities interact across different political and cultural environments. This international perspective also informs her role on the UK Space Agency’s Space Technology Advisory Committee, where she advises on future space priorities for national defence and security.
