Biography
Keisuke Niwa is a visiting fellow in the Global Economy and Finance Programme. His research centres on economic and fiscal policy. He is also a visiting fellow of the Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership and the Next Generation.
Before joining Chatham House, he served in the Japanese Ministry of Finance and worked on macroeconomic issues including fiscal policy and supervision of systemically important banks. He was a member of the preparatory group for the Future Selection Forum at Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives).
He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Global Affairs from Tsinghua University, where he was a Schwarzman Scholar and was named student of the year.
