Biography
Dr Lionel Jarvis is an associate fellow in the Centre for Universal Health. He is also a doctor of medicine, a Royal Naval medical officer, and a consultant radiologist.
He formerly served as a defence consultant adviser in radiology and as the director of medical policy at the UK Ministry of Defence. Dr Jarvis was then promoted up to surgeon rear admiral and served as the assistant chief of defence staff for health overseeing joint military medical operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He was awarded a CBE and served as honourary surgeon to Her Majesty the Queen QHS from 2006-2012. He also researches and lectures on global health and environmental stresses.
