Majid H. Jafar

Majid Jafar is CEO of Crescent Petroleum, the Middle East’s oldest and largest private oil and gas company, and vice-chairman of the Crescent Group, which has assets in energy, port management, logistics, venture capital, private equity, and other sectors.

He is managing director of the Board of publicly listed Dana Gas (PJSC), the leading natural gas company in the Middle East, in which Crescent Petroleum is the largest shareholder.

Majid Jafar brings extensive experience in business leadership, corporate governance, and long-term strategic development. He serves on several international boards and advisory bodies spanning energy, healthcare, education, and public policy. These include the Board of Fellows of Harvard Medical School, the International Energy Forum, the Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED), the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University, and The Atlantic Council. He was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Majid Jafar attended Eton College and graduated from Cambridge University (Churchill College) with Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Engineering (Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics). He holds an MA (with Distinction) in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of London’s School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS), an MBA (with Distinction) from the Harvard Business School, and an Executive Certificate in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
