Professor Michael Gasiorek

Biography
Michael Gasiorek became an associate fellow of the Chatham House Global Economy and Finance Programme in January 2021. He is professor of economics and director of the UK Trade Policy Observatory at the University of Sussex. His current research focuses on the way firms engage in trade and in value chains, the impact of trade on poverty, and the effect of Brexit on the UK economy. He is managing director of InterAnalysis, a university spin-out company, that offers support on trade policy and trade negotiations, particularly for developing countries.
Michael has more than 15 years of experience in managing large-scale international projects and has delivered advice and training to officials and governments from over 70 countries, international organizations, and regional economic communities. He also has extensive experience in the design and delivery of trade-related training courses at various levels.
