Biography

Nina Gillespie is the head of research operations of the Environment and Society Centre at Chatham House. 

Since joining Chatham House in 2018, Nina has contributed to the development of Sustainability Accelerator, a major initiative at Chatham House, and now oversees the delivery of the Centre’s strategic priorities. 

Prior to Chatham House, Nina was a strategic project officer for Sustrans, where she led various projects to increase the uptake of active and sustainable travel in towns and cities, and developing programmes to build ‘liveable’ cities through sustainable transport and urban planning. 

Previously, Nina supported the development of campaign strategies and behaviour change programmes for environmental advocacy organizations in both the US and the UK.

Nina holds an MSc in Sociology and Global Change from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in History from the University of Exeter.
