Biography
Phesheya is a Research Associate in the Sustainability Accelerator within the Environment and Society Centre. Her research explores new frontiers in the transition and pathways to a more equitable and sustainable future with an eye towards large leaps of systemic change.
She has previously worked on the social and environmental implications of critical minerals and their good governance in the transition. She has also worked on resource extraction and how the energy transition affects prospects for oil and gas producers.
Prior to joining Chatham House, Phesheya worked for the Natural Resource Governance Institute. She contributed to the development of research and advocacy projects focused on the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition for resource rich countries. She also contributed to research on how women and marginalised communities can be empowered through the transition.
Phesheya holds and an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Relations and Middle East Politics from Brown University.
