Biography

Sheila Khama is a non-executive director of listed companies, an extractives policy advisor, author, and podcast host with more than two decades’ experience in extractives. She is a non-executive director of Tullow Oil, a FTSE 250, The Metals Company listed on the NASDAQ, Base Resources listed on the ASX and Chair of Audit Committee of the UN Office of Operations, and member of the Advisory Committee of CONNEX.

She is a former CEO of De Beers Botswana and served as a non-executive director of several companies including Debswana. She is a former compliance officer for Anglo American Corporation in Botswana. She worked for the World Bank and African Development Bank’s mineral, oil and gas policy advisory units, leading experts advising governments in Africa, Latin America, and Central Asia. She served on Advisory Boards and Committees at Oxford University’s Natural Resources Charter and the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment.
