Biography

Temesgen Futsumbrhan Gebrehiwet is an academy associate at the Environment and Society Centre. At Chatham House, Temesgen explores the intersection between blended finance and energy sustainability in displacement settings looking into sustainable finance and the inclusion of local banks and investors for Kenya’s microgrids and other renewable energy solutions in refugee-hosting situations.

Temesgen is a lawyer and holds a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford. He hopes to kickstart a greener, inclusive future for displaced populations in the Horn of Africa and the continent at large.
