— Next steps on ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and the future for a Palestinian state.

Join us for a conversation with Dr Zomlot to discuss Israel’s military assault in Gaza, the humanitarian crisis in the territory, growing international support for Palestinian statehood, and prospects for an end to the conflict.

  • In August, the UN backed IPC officially declared a famine in Gaza. How should the world respond?
  • How important are moves by the UK, France, Canada, and Australia toward recognition of Palestinian statehood at the UN General Assembly in September?
  • Who will run Gaza when the current war ends?
  • Can Hamas have a role? How would any administration prevent a repeat of the cross-border attack on Israel on 7 October, nearly two years ago?

Drawing on his experience as a senior diplomat and former strategic advisor to the Palestinian leadership, Dr Zomlot will also reflect on the viability of a Palestinian state in the context of Israeli settlement expansion and violence in the West Bank, and the role of regional mediators and the wider international community – including the UK.
