17 June 2021 — 10:00AM TO 11:00AM

Hosted this year by the UK, the G7 summit brings together leaders of the largest Western economies to work out collective responses to pressing global challenges. Still faced with the economic and societal fall out of the COVID-19 outbreak, key priorities expected to be discussed include global recovery, climate change and strategic competition with China.

At this event the UK’s G7 and G20 Sherpa, Jonathan Black, provides his reflections on June’s G7 summit. What are the main substantive outcomes of the summit? Have the recent shifts in global power dynamics had an impact on deliberations? What is needed in order for the group to cement itself as a critical feature of global governance over the next decade? And, going forward, how can the group ensure it works constructively with other major economies while still maintaining its members’ values?

This event is only open to Chatham House Partners and Major Corporate Members as well as selected giving circles of Chatham House. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Linda Bedford at [email protected].
