This trend was accentuated by the $11bn chip plant led by TSMC now under construction in Dresden, Germany. Other high-tech investments in Italy, France, Germany and elsewhere flesh out a developing high-tech Taiwanese supply chain in the region. Political linkages between Taiwan and Europe are also deepening.
