However, despite progress made, Bangladesh is still facing challenges in terms of the centralization of mental health specialists in urban settings and a high burden of mental health disorders.

This high level roundtable event brings together stakeholders from academia, policymakers, civil society and health practitioners to discuss ways forward for mental health and UHC in Bangladesh.

The background to this discussion is a collaborative research project on mental health in Bangladesh, which highlights the critical importance of mental health and wellbeing as an integral part of health care delivery. This research project is being implemented by Imperial College London in partnership with leading research and health delivery organizations in Bangladesh and the UK. This event is co-organized by Chatham House and Imperial College London, with support from the GCRF.

The aims of the roundtable are to share the preliminary findings from study with leaders in policy development, and to explore how best to translate this research into actions which ensure that mental health is integral to the nations’ UHC goals.

This event is co-organized by Chatham House and Imperial College London, with support from the GCRF.
