Chatham House and Online

International governments, leading AI companies, civil society groups and experts in AI will gather at Bletchley Park for the UK AI Safety Summit in November to discuss possible mitigation measures to reduce potential harms associated with the development and use of AI.

This event aims to bring together representatives from government, industry, technical bodies and civil society for a discussion on both the humanitarian opportunities that AI presents and the types of harm that AI engenders for communities impacted by armed conflict.

The panel will consider how we can develop the necessary mitigation measures to protect those caught up in conflict, either through existing tools at our disposal, or through the creation of new regulatory tools. This is vital for ensuring that discussions on the use of AI take account of the perspectives of those caught up in conflict.

This event is organized in partnership with, and with support from, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the British Computer Society (BCS).

In-person participation is by invitation only. Please register for this event online to join virtually.
