Iran-Israel war: The impact on Iran

Experts discuss how the June Iran-Israel war has influenced Iran’s domestic political landscape, civil society and security.

Event date and time: 7 July 2025 — 14:00 TO 15:00 BST

Event location: Online

On 13 June 2025, Israel launched missile strikes against Iran, prompting swift retaliation and igniting 12 days of direct conflict. The war marked an unprecedented moment for the Islamic Republic, exposing the regime’s inability to protect its civilians and cities from foreign attack.

With a fragile ceasefire now in place, major questions remain about the regime’s ability to maintain internal control and project stability. Political discontent, social frustration, and a weak economy continue to shape Iran’s domestic landscape. At the same time, many Iranians find themselves conflicted, grappling with grievances against the regime, yet fearful of Israeli and American military aggression. In this webinar, a panel of experts will discuss internal political, social, and security dynamics in Iran following the June Iran-Israel war.
