The Korea-Europe Next Generation Policy Expert Network identifies young policy experts from the European Union who demonstrate an interest, and have expertise, in the East Asia region, to provide them with opportunities to deepen their knowledge on Korea-related issues. It provides participants with opportunities to engage in in-depth discussions with leading policymakers and scholars in the field and broaden their connections with policy experts in the Republic of Korea. It also aims to encourage policy-oriented research on East Asia, particularly the Korean peninsula, and collaborative activities among its participants.
2020-21 marks the fourth year of the Korea-Europe Next Generation Policy Network and will comprise an online forum, followed by a study tour for participants to Seoul. The theme of the 2020 forum is ‘Open societies at risk? Sustaining international cooperation amidst the pandemic and rising nationalism’.
This event is held in partnership with the Korea Foundation.
