UK foreign policy: Time for a reset?

In conversation with the Rt Hon David Lammy MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.

Event date and time: 10 October 2023 — 18:00 TO 19:00 BST

Event location: Suite 4, Leonardo Hotel, Liverpool

This session will assess the UK’s strengths and opportunities to become a leading player in world that has become more divided, more dangerous, and more unpredictable.

  • What would a future Labour government do to modernize Britain’s diplomacy and rebuild alliances to improve Britain’s global influence?
  • What would closer links with the EU look like? What shape might a UK/EU security pact take?
  • As Britain’s economy falters, how can foreign policy drive prosperity at home?
  • What is Labour’s plan for international development, following the UK government’s abandonment of the 0.7% commitment?
