The phenomenon of ‘globalisation’ continues to attract a huge volume of new publications. Globalisation and Global Governance, Beyond Globalisation, and The End of Globalisation are typical titles in the new body of literature: some seek to define globalisation, some to deny its existence.

Others suggest strategies for getting on with the business of making the world a better place without getting hung up on the precise definition of the term. One such book is Worldwatch Institute Vice President Hilary French’s new publication Vanishing Borders, a succinct, eminently readable and serious guide to the challenges of planetary protection in the globalised world economy.
