War No More: Eliminating Conflict in the Nuclear Age by Robert Hinde and Joseph Rotblat. Pluto Press, August 2003. 240 pages, £10.99
Review by Denis Healey
This is a useful study of war in the modern world, its political, economic and cultural causes, and how to overcome them.
Rightly, the authors assume that wars within states are more likely nowadays than wars between states, though the intervention of external powers can lead to a civil war becoming a war between states.
