War in Europe; a rapid succession of governments; the death of a beloved and long-reigning matriarch; the start of a recession. The historic events in 2022 have presented big challenges for Britain as it seeks to resolve the identity crisis triggered by Brexit. 

Within every challenge lies a meaningful opportunity, however. And so it is for the UK, writes John Kampfner, who embarked on a listening exercise with experts from around the world to understand what role this new-era Britain could play. He presents his findings alongside British thinkers from the four corners of the country.
