Biography
Bilal Y. Saab is the Head of the US-Middle East Practice and an Advisor in the Scientific and Academic Council of TRENDS Research and Advisory and an Associate Fellow with Chatham House’s Middle East and North Africa Programme.
He is a political-military analyst with more than two decades of experience working on the Middle East and US defence policy toward the region. He is also a former US Department of Defense senior advisor with oversight responsibilities for security cooperation in the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility.
He specializes in the Levant and the Gulf regions and focuses on security cooperation between the United States and its regional partners, and Arab national security and defence processes. His new book is called Rebuilding Arab Defense: US Security Cooperation in the Middle East.
