Biography
Courtney Rice is Senior Manager of the UK in the World Programme at Chatham House. He joined the UK in the World team in August 2022 to help establish the programme. Courtney has worked at Chatham House for over a decade across several departments and in his time has overseen and supported a vast range of projects, publications and events.
From 2016-22 Courtney worked with the US and the Americas Programme at Chatham House, supporting projects exploring such themes as changing transatlantic relations, NATO’s role in the 21st century, America’s relationship with the Indo-Pacific and the role of the US in global trade.
During this time, he also helped the programme expanded its research portfolio to include Latin America and supported numerous projects analysing developments within and impacting the region.
Before joining the US and the Americas Programme, he spent a year (2015-16) working with Chatham House’s Publications and Communications Department, as well as the then called International Economics Department (now Global Economy and Finance).
From 2021-22 Courtney was a member of Chatham House’s internal Personnel Committee and its Finance Committee where he supported the development and dissemination of institution wide policies. He first joined Chatham House as an intern in 2014.
Courtney holds an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London and Dual Honours BA in International Relations and History from Keele University in Staffordshire.
