Ekaterina Sachkova

New Generation Europe Foundation Academy Fellow, Russia and Eurasia Programme

Biography

Ekaterina is the New Generation Europe Foundation Academy Fellow with the Russia and Eurasia Programme. Her current research focuses on the social impact of creative, educational and charitable projects initiated by Russians in exile and how these initiatives can act as catalysts for developing effective and inclusive policies within the Russian diaspora. 

Specializing in social policy and the creative economy, Ekaterina has extensive expertise in transforming post-Soviet cultural institutions. Before joining Chatham House, she led the Creative Industries Agency, a prominent Russian NGO, and served as a lecturer at the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.


Ekaterina holds a Master of Public Policy from the Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University, a PhD in Social Philosophy from St. Petersburg State University, and an MA in Cultural Management from the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences in partnership with the University of Manchester.
