Biography

Minna Ålander is an Analyst at the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS), Swedish Institute of International Affairs. She is also a Non-resident Fellow at CEPA Transatlantic Defense and Security programme. Previously, she worked at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs.

Her research focuses on Northern European and Arctic security, Nordic defence cooperation, NATO, hybrid warfare, as well as wider European security. Her expertise also includes German and Finnish security and defence policy.


She holds a joint Master’s degree in International Relations from the Free University of Berlin, the Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Potsdam.
