Yannis Diakadonis

Biography
Yannis is an Academy Fellow with the Global Economy and Finance Programme. His research examines the future of digital money, including stablecoins and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), their implications for monetary sovereignty, and the policy approaches of the US, UK and EU.
Previously, Yannis worked as a Financial Data Analyst at ABN AMRO Bank, contributing to regulatory reporting across resolution and statistical supervisory frameworks. He has also worked in financial services at PwC and in commercial finance at Unilever. As a Research Assistant at Erasmus School of Economics, he conducted empirical political economy and development research using large-scale data collection, dataset construction and econometric analysis.
Yannis holds a BSc in International Economics and Business Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford.
