Dr Zissis Marmarelis

Zissis Marmarelis is the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academy Fellow. He is based at the Environment and Society Centre, where his research focuses on the geopolitics of energy, climate policy, and the strategic implications of decarbonization in Europe and Southeastern Europe.

Zissis holds a PhD in Public Policy and Management from the University of Southern California and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. His doctoral research studied the impacts of the recent European energy crisis and policy responses on electricity prices, excessive emissions, and renewable energy investment.
