In recent years, Russia and China have become increasingly strategically aligned, challenging the dominance of Western liberal democracies. This has led to growing and accelerating cooperation in most realms, including defense, geo-economics, technology and diplomacy.

Drawing on her current research at the CNAS and career with the National Intelligence Council and CIA, Andrea Kendall-Taylor provides her assessment of the impacts of the deepening Russia-China relationship for the West. How might the synergies created by this partnership amplify the impact of both actors? How should policymakers in the West understand and navigate growing Russia-China alignment? And how might the US and European countries differ in their approaches to relations with Russia and China independently and as partners?

This event is only open to Chatham House Partners and Major Corporate Members as well as selected giving circles of Chatham House. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Linda Bedford at [email protected].
