With ongoing conflicts, increased competition between regional powers and international actors, and persistent governance challenges across the region, the Middle East urgently needs a framework for security that can prevent future escalation of tensions and improve the stability of a troubled region.
A new Chatham House paper argues that regional stability can and should be built through the creation of a bottom-up incremental process with international and regional investment in conflict management and trust building.
Drawing on interviews with 210 analysts and policymakers in 15 countries, this recommended process seeks to address Iran’s destabilizing regional role, while also focusing on multilateral regional conflict management.
At this webinar, the authors will present the paper’s key findings and discuss the proposed pathways towards regional security and stability in the Middle East.
The webinar will be livestreamed on the MENA Programme Facebook page.
