After more than four years, the war in Ukraine has entered a period of military stalemate on the ground and a vicious battle in the sky, with strikes hitting both Moscow and Kyiv. Numerous attempts to broach a ceasefire have failed but talks of ending the war are brewing.
If a ceasefire is finally agreed, it will create new questions: about Ukraine’s security, Russia’s ambitions, and Europe’s long-term stability – made more urgent by uncertainty over US commitment to European security.
