About the Author
Søren Kirk Jensen is director of Independent Policy Analysis and was an associate fellow with the Chatham House Africa Programme from 2015 to 2017. He specializes in Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa – particularly Angola, where he lived from 2004 to 2007, and which he continues to visit several times a year – and has produced numerous publications. Søren holds a double master’s degree in public administration and international development studies, and has extensive experience working on public-sector management, governance, political economy and public financial management for a wide range of institutions. Søren was previously a senior policy and research adviser for CoST – the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative; and is a consultant for the World Bank, where he is engaged in a tax administration reform project in Angola.
