They report being physically assaulted and tortured by Russian soldiers and, for those in Kherson, they still remain under attack from Russian soldiers every day. Due to destruction of the infrastructure, there is no water or electricity in the city.

The Center for Civil Liberties together with other organizations has started an initiative called Tribunal for Putin, documenting thousands of cases of alleged war crimes from Kherson and other occupied areas in the Chernihiv, Kyiv, and Sumy regions by collecting testimonies from both victims and witnesses.
