Professor Roland Paris

Biography
Roland Paris is director of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa and former foreign policy adviser to the prime minister of Canada.
He has also been director of research at the Conference Board of Canada, the country’s largest think-tank, and advisor on Canada-United States relations within the Canadian foreign ministry and cabinet office.
Professor Paris’ research on international security, civil conflicts, and Canadian and American foreign policy has appeared in leading academic outlets and earned several prizes, including the Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order.
He holds a PhD from Yale University and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge.
