Biography

Samantha de Bendern is a British multilingual political risk and financial consultant based in the south of France.

After ten years focusing on Russia and Eastern Europe in a security and international relations context at the European Commission, NATO HQ and Control Risks Group, she moved into banking to oversee client acquisition in Eastern Central Europe and the post-Soviet space, as well as India, where she lived for four years.


In parallel to her banking work, Samantha has remained active in the policy field, working with British and Ukrainian NGO’s on combatting Russian disinformation, as well as studying the political situation in Ukraine and Belarus.

She left banking in 2018 to concentrate full-time on political risk consulting and writing non-fiction and fiction. She is also active in EU affairs and combatting disinformation in France.
