Biography
Sharon Hudson-Dean is a Senior Fellow with the Center for European Policy Analysis in Washington, DC. Over three decades, she worked in the top ranks of US diplomacy serving as European Security Policy Director and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State responsible for relations with NATO, the OSCE, the Nordic/Baltic countries, the United Kingdom, and Ireland (2024-25).
Previously, Ms Hudson-Dean served as Acting Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission in Oslo, Norway, focused on regional energy, military and Arctic policy and as US Consul General in Sydney, Australia, concentrating on trade, China and security issues. She also represented the United States in Latvia, Russia, Georgia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Nepal, as well as in the US Senate as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow.
She holds degrees from Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University, where she was awarded the Joseph S. Sebes, S.J. Medal in Asian Studies.
