The 2005 Chatham House Prize was awarded to President Victor Yushchenko in recognition of his contribution to the improvement of international relations and the considerable courage and skill he demonstrated in steering a peaceful process of political change in Ukraine.

HM The Queen, accompanied by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, presented the award to the Ukrainian president at a ceremony at the Mansion House on Monday 17 October 2005. Cherie Booth QC was the keynote speaker at a gala dinner that followed on from the award.
