Response vs Responsibility: The Role of the Private Sector in a Crisis

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses and the global economy cannot be overstated.

Event date and time: 27 October 2020 — 16:00 TO 16:45 GMT

Event location: Online

As we transition to the longer-term reality of COVID-19, an opportunity now exists to rethink traditional business practices and shift from planning for crisis management to building longer-term resilience. What is the role of the private sector in facilitating an innovative and sustainable recovery as countries attempt to ‘build back better’?

This event will focus on the role of the private sector in a crisis-affected world and ways in which organizations are navigating and preparing the new normal. What lessons can be learnt from the ways in which different sectors have responded and is there a ‘right’ approach as we move forward? To what extent can businesses lead and innovate with or without regulatory pressures for them do to so? And how can responsible behaviour be incentivized both within organizations and via external factors?
