Five years on, the trials of eighty of the five hundred or so detainees held at Guantanamo Bay are due to start. As for the rest, there is still no end in sight because they are classified as enemy combatants. But is the evidence that supports both the prosecutions and continued detentions so tainted that even the United States’ closest allies are unconvinced?
