The pervasive nature and appalling consequences of conflict-related sexual violence is the subject of continuing investigation. While there is no doubt that women and girls are disproportionately affected, there is increasing evidence that men and boys as well as sexual and gender minorities also suffer and, in some cases, are directly targeted.
