David Lammy MP, the UK’s Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, comments on the merger of the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) and the UK Foreign Office into the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in 2020.

He also addresses the abandonment of the UK target to spend 0.7% of natonal income on development assistance and outlines the approach he would take as UK Foreign Secretary.

He made the comments during Chatham House’s London Conference 2022.
