Biography

Tahlia is the Richard and Susan Hayden Academy Fellow. She is based at the UK in the World Programme, where her research examines the UK’s strategic approach to managing the risks and harnessing the opportunities posed by intensifying technological competition between the United States, China and the European Union, with a particular focus on emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and biotechnology. 

Prior to joining Chatham House, Tahlia served as a strategic analyst for the Australian Government, where she delivered high-level assessments and advice on security issues and geopolitical threats across the Asia-Pacific region to senior decision-makers in government, partner governments and the private sector.

She holds a Bachelor of International and Global Studies and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney, and a Master of National Security Policy from the Australian National University.
