Panel

Global instability and the future of a values based international order

This panel will explore the role of the US and UK in shaping the rules based liberal world order. This event will be followed by a drinks reception.

Event date and time: 11 April 2024 — 17:00 TO 18:00 BST

Event location: Hybrid — Chatham House and Online

Historically, the United States and Britain have shared a common vision of a values-based world order.

But in this moment of worsening global instability and violence, foreign policy practitioners are increasingly forced to reckon with conflicting values and painful trade-offs.

Can the U.S. and U.K. recommit to a shared set of values and norms, or is the post-WWII system beyond saving?

This event will be followed by a drinks reception.
