Workshop

Unravelling Europe’s interdependent energy system

Exploring the development of energy security, security of supply and energy solidarity in Europe.

Event date and time: 11 May 2022 — 14:00 TO 16:00 BST

Event location: In person — Chatham House

This workshop will explore the development of energy security, security of supply and energy solidarity in Europe over the past fifty years. It will discuss European and Russian energy relations in order to reframe current political-economic developments in European energy markets.

The workshop will focus on a draft policy report, written by Professor Michael LaBelle as part of an Open Society University Network (OSUN) fellowship at Chatham House. The outcome is to operationalize the understanding of energy power relations to develop a set of policy recommendations that enable the building of a more secure and less volatile energy system in Europe.
